A collaborative research paper co-authored by Prof. Tokuda has been published in Review of Scientific Instruments. The study was led by Prof. Takashi Nishizawa of the Research Institute for Applied Mechanics at Kyushu University and conducted in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics and other institutions.
The paper proposes a method for reliably estimating the spatial distribution of plasma radiation. In this method, Gaussian process regression is used to model the power densities of blackbody radiation and thermal diffusion on the detector foil of infrared imaging video bolometers.
